Facial terminology, mapped
The numbers below make commonly used consultation terms easier to recognise. They are not a promise that every area should be filled: crow’s-feet, tear troughs, folds and lower-face lines can each lead to a different product, technique—or no injectable at all.
Lip filler and the two-week booster
A standard lip appointment uses up to 1 ml according to the agreed plan. A suitable two-week booster is a smaller planned review treatment used to refine the result where another full syringe is not needed. It is not automatically included for every client.
Needle, cannula—or a planned combination?
Each tool offers different access, precision and tissue-plane behaviour. The choice is made for the anatomy and intended change; neither tool makes filler risk free.

Restylane® with lidocaine
Restylane is a Galderma HA-filler family. Products with lidocaine are selected by area and movement—such as lips, cheek, chin, fold or eye-area indications—rather than using one syringe for every job. From £219 per ml.
Juvéderm®
An Allergan/AbbVie HA-filler family with different gels for movement, contour, projection and support. The exact named product appears on the consent and treatment record. From £179 per ml.
Selected HA filler
A clinic-curated hyaluronic-acid filler selected for the intended area, tissue behaviour and desired result. The exact product is shown before treatment. From £79 for lips or £119 per ml for facial planning.
Restylane protocol
The area, tissue behaviour and intended change determine the exact Restylane product. “With lidocaine” describes comfort support; it does not make every Restylane gel interchangeable.
A single appointment is planned conservatively by product amount and anatomy, using needle, cannula or a planned combination where appropriate.
Settling, symmetry and any further product are reviewed when clinically indicated. Further treatment is not automatically added before swelling has settled.
What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is an established family of hyaluronic-acid facial fillers rather than one single treatment. Different products within the range are designed for different facial areas, movement and levels of support. The product name, amount, intended area and premium price are confirmed during consultation.
What to expect
- Medical history, previous filler, medication, allergies and treatment goals are screened.
- The product class, amount, areas, technique, total price and aftercare are confirmed before treatment.
- Swelling, tenderness, bruising, asymmetry during settling and temporary firmness can occur.
- Vascular complications are uncommon but serious; emergency recognition and escalation procedures matter.
- A review is arranged when clinically indicated or built into the treatment plan.
When a different injectable may fit better
If the main goal is broad skin quality, hydration or gradual collagen-stimulator support rather than local volume, a Profhilo, PLLA/Sculptra, CaHA/Radiesse, PDRN, Jalupro, Juvelook, Rejuran or mesotherapy pathway may be discussed instead.
