Collagen, elastin and structural support

Skin laxity

Separate mild skin looseness from volume loss, muscle movement, local fat and the larger tissue change that may need surgery.

What it means

Start with the pattern, not the treatment name

Laxity develops as collagen and elastin change with age and ultraviolet exposure and as deeper fat, ligaments and bone support alter. Small amounts of looseness may respond modestly to remodelling or heat-based procedures; larger tissue descent cannot be lifted by a facial cream.
