Dermaplaning in Dudley

A 45-minute facial that carefully removes surface build-up and fine vellus hair for a temporarily smoother-looking, softer-feeling finish, with skin suitability checked first.

A precise surface treatment

What dermaplaning does—and what it does not do

Dermaplaning uses a sterile, single-use blade to remove superficial dead skin cells and fine facial vellus hair. It can make the surface feel smoother and help makeup sit more evenly, but it does not permanently remove hair, change the follicle or treat a skin disease.

Smoother-feeling skin

Surface build-up is removed for a temporary polished feel without claiming permanent texture change.

Fine facial hair

Vellus hair is removed at the surface. It does not grow back thicker or darker because the follicle is unchanged.

Makeup preparation

Suitable clients may prefer the smoother surface before an event, with enough time allowed for any short-lived redness to settle.

Facial upgrade route

A suitable mask or serum finish can be added, while stronger exfoliation is kept separate unless specifically assessed.

What happens at the appointment?

01 · Skin screening

Current sensitivity, active breakouts, medication, retinoids, recent treatments, healing and the intended result are reviewed.

02 · Cleanse and preparation

Makeup and surface residue are removed, and the treatment area is prepared for a controlled cosmetic treatment.

03 · Dermaplaning

The superficial surface is treated methodically with a sterile, single-use blade. The procedure is adjusted or stopped if the skin response makes that appropriate.

04 · Calm and protect

A suitable hydrating finish and daytime sun protection are applied, followed by simple aftercare advice.

When dermaplaning is postponed or avoided

  • Active, inflamed or cystic acne is not dermaplaned because the treatment can disturb lesions and increase irritation.
  • Open skin, active infection, cold sores, sunburn, an unexplained rash or a changing lesion needs recovery or appropriate assessment first.
  • Recent peels, waxing, laser, microneedling, injectables, surgery or strong active skincare can change safe timing.
  • A history of poor healing, bleeding problems or medication affecting the skin or clotting must be discussed before booking.
  • Short-lived redness, dryness, sensitivity, small nicks, spots or pigment change can occur; results are not guaranteed.

Dermaplaning is not the same as dermabrasion

Dermaplaning removes superficial build-up and vellus hair with a blade. Hydrodermabrasion and diamond-tip treatments use different equipment and have different treatment goals. The names should not be used interchangeably.

Simple aftercare

Keep the skin routine gentle, avoid picking or scrubbing, and use broad-spectrum sun protection. Strong acids, retinoids, exfoliating tools, heat and other intensive treatments are reintroduced only after the skin is comfortable and according to the advice given at the appointment.
